Artist Michael Jones McKean utilizes solar energy and rainwater to create rainbows

Artist Michael Jones McKean has created a machine that can create artificial rainbows using natural materials. The machine uses a system of high-powered jet pumps and custom fountain nozzles that spray water into the air, creating rainbows.
McKean is planning to produce a rainbow twice a day for up to 20 minutes using reclaimed rainwater and sunlight. In June visitors to Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha, Nebraska may be able to see rainbows from up to 1000 feet away and even walk through them.
