The new Hollywood flick ‘Inception’ was largely powered by Dicaprio’s solar panels
The makers of the latest Hollywood movie ‘Inception’ were using the sun to power their multi effects set that created the cinematic dreamland. The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation supplied mobile solar panels to power up the set and the stars wagons.
In early production stages of the film DiCaprio suggested to Alan Horn the head of Warner Brothers the idea to use solar panels to power up the set, Horn decided to give the idea the go ahead and thus making ‘Inception’ the first eco friendly Hollywood blockbuster.
DiCaprio’s reaction was “It’s going to be a big conversion to do stuff like that every day, not just in making movies but everything in the world. We do a lot of things in the world that are wasteful. We keep talking about this all the time. Hopefully, fingers crossed, with these small steps, we’ll make that transition on a much larger scale in the future.”
